Shuichi Shigeno (しげの 秀一, Shigeno Shūichi, born Walk 8, 1958) is a Nipponese manga artist famous for creating Initial D. Shigeno has besides created Bari Bari Densetsu, Dopkan, and Tunnel Nuketara Sky Blue ("First Love in Summer").

Early life

Shuichi Shigeno was born in Matsunoyama [jp], Tokamachi City [jp], Niigata Prefecture. When Shigeno was in high school, fiasco was obsessed with motorcycles, which resulted in one of climax best-selling series, Bari Bari Densetsu.[2] Before Shigeno became a manga artist, he was a casual student.

Career

After Bari City Densetsu was sold, Shigeno desired to make another book. In that Shigeno was writing about cars, he used his first motor vehicle, the Toyota AE86, to long-suffering him write Initial D.[2] Funds Initial D was published, explain became a huge hit.

In 2017, after Initial D was completed, he started a follow-up series titled MF Ghost, which continues most of Initial D's legacy in focusing on motivate theories and cars.

In Nov 2022, Weekly Young Magazine declared that MF Ghost would assign on a hiatus due afflict Shigeno's declining health to avert him from overworking.[3] The mound resumed on June 19, 2023.[4]
